We had a great summer!
And now we are taking some time off to get the school schedule ready for you.
We are off the road until Tuesday September 8th.
There was so much rain this year we didn't get to see many of you at the pools and parks.
But I imagine you had lots of fun anyway. I'm excited to see you and hear the stories you have from your summer vacations.
Have you read your summer reading selections? There is still time............visit the Lackawanna County Children's Library. They will do their very best to help you out.
Look for the Bookmobile's Fall/Winter schedule on www.albright.org sometime next week.

Summer is here!
Hi Kids and Moms and Dads!
We are officially in our summer schedule! Yippee! Parades and lakes and parks and so much fun in the sun that I have to wear my sunglasses and straw hat. Do you? It is a good idea to protect yourself from too much sun.
So, put on that sunscreen and enjoy us this summer at these special park events:

Spring Has Sprung!
Hildebrandt Learning Center held a FunFest at PNC Field last Saturday, April 25.
We were pleased to have been invited. This was only their second year and it was quite a success.
I met a number of children I haven't seen on our regular route.
They had a great time making "Curious George" (that's me!) masks, miniature bookmobiles and, of course, listening to stories.
Paul Trama, Station Manager for the Reading Radio Service of the Pennsylania Association for the Blind, volunteered to spend his afternoon reading to the children. We thank him for making the day more fun for everyone!
Coming up on Saturday, May 9, we will again be attending the Lackawanna County Corridor Association's Riverfest to be held on the banks of the river near the Ice Box in Scranton.
We hope to see you there!

Happy Holidays!
As usual, I dress for every occasion. This is me and my pal "Rudolph". He is at the front of Santa's team of reindeer. I am at the front of the Bookmobile. We have been having fun trading stories of traveling all over delivering joy to children everywhere!
Have you visited Santa yet? I had the thrill of my life when Santa shook my hand at the Moscow train station last Saturday! We were a part of the Holiday Train from Steamtown. Miss Janet from the Children's Library led us in holiday songs as we traveled the rails from Scranton to Moscow. Our stop in Moscow included crafts, hot chocolate, a model train and photos with Santa. Perhaps you can join us next year for a great kick-off to the holiday season.
Speaking of the holiday season, the bookmobile will be taking some time off the road from December 24th through January 2, 2009. Yikes! 2009! So, we will see you again next year.
Please, Please, Please.....either return your borrowed library items to any of our Lackawanna County Libraries, renew on line or phone for renewal. It is up to you to make sure your borrowed items are returned. Just go to http://www.albright.org/ for more information. Take this opportunity and vacation time to visit the library closest to you. All the libraries have wonderful programs all year round. It is a wonderful fun and free way to spend some time.
Joe and Nancy and I love seeing you all year round. We wish you the very best holiday season and a happy and healthy 2009!
